Department of Bio-informatics

Mr. J. Vasanth Nirmal Bosco, M.Sc., M.Phil., is the HOD i/c and has 5 years of experience.  He is expert in drug designing, docking, proteomics and genomics.  He has presented more than 5 papers in various conferences and seminars. 
With the volume of biological information increasing day-by-day, there is demand for high throughput and efficient methods to sift useful information from gibberish data.  Hence was borne a new discipline, called Bioinformatics, which a union of Biology and Computer Science.  In the coming years this is bound to have the biggest scope.  In the Department, high configuration workstations with high speed dedicated internet connections and efficient faculty are available.
