Department of Commerce
( AICM: A & F, BI, e-Com, RM )

This department is headed by Mrs.T.Usharani M.Com., M.Phil., MBA., with 9 years of teaching experience. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Finance. She has presented 15 papers in various National and International Conferences. This department is currently having nine faculty members with highly qualified and experienced in academic and industry exposure. The department offers the following four undergraduate courses in the Commerce Stream.

  • B.Com Banking and Insurance
  • B.Com e-Commerce
  • B.Com Retail Management

To meet the industrial needs we designed the curriculum covering the area of Accounting and Finance, Banking and Insurance, e-Commerce and Retail Marketing.

B.Com (Accounting & Finance) programme is designed to develop the students in obtaining an in-depth knowledge of Accounting and Finance. It also provides opportunities to gain a broader insight into financial aspects of Business and Management.

B.Com Banking & Insurance programme aims to inculcate training and practical approach among the students by using modern technologies, and also to given an adequate exposure in the field of Banking, Insurance and other related financial services.

B.Com Retail Marketing covers all aspects of retail management and incorporates all key retail-related competencies, including accounting, retail marketing management, customer behaviour, planning and promotion and distribution management.

B.Com (e-Commerce) programme is a combined study of accounting principles and e-Commerce. The course study helps the candidate to perform well in the application area of e-commerce and to understand the complexity of e-commerce and its many facets.

These programmes aims at providing different platform for the students in academics and to give adequate exposure to the operational environment in the field of Accounting and Finance, Banking and Insurance, e-Commerce and Retail Marketing.
